Ben Levin Porch Session with Noah Wotherspoon
Ben Levin is a pianist/vocalist based in Cincinnati, OH. Ben has released four albums on the Vizztone Label Group and has three Blues Music Award nominations including best piano player of the year (2023, 2024).
Noah Wotherspoon is an absolutely phenomenal and captivating musician, who found his calling at a young age, and made a name for himself as one of the leading musicians, and blues guitarists, to rein from Dayton, Ohio.
Ivy Ford: versatile, talented, an old soul. From singing the blues to being sultry, she is an indigo artist who’s gift connects those who are around her and those who listen. Whether leading a full band or serenading a small audience solo on stage, Ivy Ford commands an energy that is most magical.
James “Jamie” Carr began his musical journey over twenty five years ago when he was given his first acoustic guitar as a child. He began his professional career playing metal music and was signed to Leviathan Records with his band Simple Aggression while still a teenager.
After that group disbanded, he formed the power trio East Southern who released two independently financed EP’s that garnered great reviews and showed the bluesy style that was becoming his signature sound.
Jamie’s talent has opened the doors for him to play many shows outside his home base of Greater Cincinnati to places all over the country.
With his new releases under the Jamie Carr band moniker, he has finally embraced stepping in to the center stage as both vocalist and guitarist. His new music displays a wide range of musical influences while still embracing his love for the blues and rock guitar.
Souls, funk, rock, and blues from Ohio with love.
Rick “Bam” Powell is a veteran singing drummer who did quite a bit of road work with Le Blanc and Carr, a couple of Muscle Shoals, Alabama recording session musicians. They did extensive touring, along with several national TV shows. They opened on four of the last five Lynrd Skynrd shows before the awful crash. Bam did a stint in Florida with Brutus, featuring guitarist Scott Hendersen, and then stayed down south until The Raisins called him home to Cincinnati, Ohio. Since The Raisins split, Bam has played with some of Cincinnati’s finest musicians in bands such as The Goshorn Brothers, The Bluebirds, Stagger Lee, Tickled Pink, Bucket, and of course, Bam Powell and The Troublemakers. There have been a variety of “Troublemakers,” but these days you’ll generally hear Mike Fletcher on bass/vocals, Pete Benoit on guitar/vocals, Randy Villars on sax and keys, and Bam on drums and vocals. These guys all played together, along with Lee Everitt, in The Tim Goshorn Band. Bam has recorded three solo CD’s and several discs with the above mentioned groups.
